About Marese Secades
Marese Secades is a Filipino freediving athlete, instructor, entrepreneur and underwater content creator who has become one of the most recognizable figures in the Philippine freediving community. She began freediving in 2016 after leaving the corporate world and went on to found Apnea Philippines, a freediving school and community that has trained more than 1,000 students through locations and events across the Philippines. Marese is a 9-time Philippine national record holder and has been recognized internationally for her competitive diving, instruction and underwater photography. She has been featured by National Geographic, Discovery Channel UK and Netflix's Home Game. Her content combines freediving, ocean adventure, wellness, travel and underwater photography, with a strong emphasis on connecting people with the water. She is also a freediving instructor trainer and works with major equipment and lifestyle brands. Her combination of athletic credibility, environmental/ocean positioning and visually distinctive underwater content makes her particularly attractive to marine, adventure, travel, wellness and outdoor brands.
